§02 common questions
how do i verify my chain independently?
export your proof bundle and run it through the open-source verifier cli. verification uses your kms public key and the public timestamp calendar. you do not need syen to be online to verify a record.
where is my data stored?
event data is stored encrypted in aws us-east-1 and azure east us. your encryption key lives in your own aws kms or azure key vault. we cannot read your payload data.
how do i export my evidence chain?
use the /api/v1/export endpoint with your tenant credentials. exports include all signed events, merkle proofs, and rfc 3161 timestamps in a portable json format.
what happens to my data if i cancel?
encrypted event data is retained to allow export for regulatory and compliance purposes. you may request deletion at any time. revoking your kms key renders all associated data permanently unreadable.
what is the kms key requirement?
you must provision an aws kms or azure key vault key for payload encryption. syen comply uses your key to encrypt event payloads before storage. we never see your plaintext data.
